Two different shots of the iron men on Crosby Beach, a large scale art installation from Angel of the North creator Antony Gormley called "Another Place"
I really enjoyed my windblown evening here with the Wildcat; although her photos are more impressive than mine! I never get tired of this beach and the wonderful statues. Many of them are developing interesting growths of marine life.
The Corner monthly competition results were announced last night; the subject was HUMOUR and I got second, third and joint fifth places!! I can't say my most successful photo was of any technical merit - just something I happened to see!! click HERE if you want to see my photos and the winner; which IS a good photo!!
This morning I'm off for my training walk - it's less than a month now until my Race for Life. I have RDA this afternoon. My back and right hip are really hurting today despite liberal dosages of painkillers - I think it's the rain. Hope it holds off while I'm out walking.

Are they still thinking of removing the iron men? It would be such a shame I really like them.
I love that statue....and the letterbox crop works really well. amazing sky too :)
That's an awsome couple of shots there. What a neat and interesting place.
Congrats on your placing in the contest. Your's were wonderful, the Lion seemed to be laughing at a good joke.
I really liked the two men squatting with their butt cracks showing. Appliance repairmen no doubt;)
I'd not heard of these Iron Men before...they are fantastic. Loved your photos...well done....the restaurant was really funny. Hope the aches and pains clear up. Have a nice warm Radox bath.

I am so proud that you were recognized so thoroughly for your work. I love your pictures, and am thrilled that it's been rewarded in the real world as well.
Thanks very much for your kind comment on my blog. This medium really does personalize our connections, doesn't it? I completely see myself crossing paths with fellow bloggers in the real world in the years to come, and I just know that sitting down for tea with them would be like meeting an old friend for a chat. What a world we've created.
I'm still here in Shanghai, getting ready for another day of conference intensity. I'm having a ball, and will have lots of stories and pictures to share soon.
I'd better get my act in gear: breakfast is served in 30 minutes. Bye!
