I am a tired but happy Julie tonight after another enjoyable and educational wedding shoot. It's been a busy week for me as I was on a course Thursday and Friday.

I was struggling in the early part of the day as my speedlight wasn't functioning well. It's only the second time I've used it and I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to technology so it took SOME TIME for me to twig that perhaps the batteries needed changing??? Then I had to find my "boss" as i couldn't work out where the battery compartment was. He was kind and didn't laught too much at me...! Once that was sorted i felt better.

This was my first marquee wedding and was certainly different. The chuch was the loveliest I've ever seen. Sadly it was so windy it was impossible to take many photos at the church.

Today's pic is a key I noticed while I was at the rear of the church during the address from the vicar. It's impossible to be at wedding (at least for me!) without passionately wishing the newly weds a long and happy marriage. I wish all couples could somehow be handed a "magic key" to happiness on their wedding day. Perhaps this one is that magic key? I certainly hope so...

If not magic, it is certainly beautiful. I love old stuff. I will go with you, a magic and happy life.

What a lovely thought Julie. I'm very pleased everything went so well with your wedding today. The wind was a bit of an issue wasn't it. Did your bride have a veil? Never good for the old hair either is it LOL.
I had a great day with Steve and like you, I learned loads. I was very tired at the end of it though. Lots of love and I hope you're being spoilt rotten on Mothers Day CH

Would that be wonderful if newlyweds could be give a magic key to a lifetime of happiness. I think MWM and I were given one! :)

the light in the photo is mystical, which of course suits the key and anything and everything it symbolizes.

so now I have yet another new favorite :)

such a beautiful photo and a really lovely sentiment. I know what you mean about wishing the newly wedds well, I usually shed a tear or two as I click my way through the photos!

The key shot is perfect. And if only it were as simple as getting a magic key when we get married.

I like shooting weddings, I get a bit nervous before it starts, but once it starts, I have fun. No time for nerves when the wedding is on!

The battery thing, is what I call a "brain fart." Tacky? Yes, but it fits my frame of mind when I get flustered like that.

I bought a set of 2500mVA AA rechargeable Energizer batteries that will give me well over 300 full flashes on my Nikon SB600 flash. They are incredible, definitely the most powerful rechargeable batteries I've ever used.
