I will never forget what happened on this day. Phil phoned me and told me to switch on the television. I could not believe what I was seeing. We were due to visit New York City two weeks later. I will never forget the horror of seeing my favourite city attacked. It feels like only yesterday.

We postponed our trip until the following spring and it was wonderful to see the spirit of New York unbroken. Americans always make us Brits feel so welcome. I do feel there is a special bond between us and I hope we can bring the girls to NYC next year.

New York is one of my favorite cities and I couldn't believe what happened. We worked there at least twice a year for over 9 years. We worked with many off duty NYC firemen and you can go to my archives of 9-11, 2006 to read about our fireman friend Louie and that fateful day.

I remember it well too. We were on holiday in Spain and a Dutch guy in a neighbouring villa came and told us what was happening. At first we thought he was explaining a film he was watching. We put on the Tv and couldn't believe what was really happening.
Take care

It's always an odd, kind of subdued anniversary here. September 11 is now called Patriot's Day in memory of those who so valiantly fought the terrorists on flight 93 and the brave rescue workers who went into the Twin Towers at their own peril to save who they could, losing their own lives in the process. I fervently hope and pray that NO ONE in ANY country has to go through a day like that ever, ever again.

I remember the day. Our repro technician had been watching television and came rushing into the office to tell us. We all thought he was making it up, but you couldn't make up something so horrific. :(
