What a wonderful day
...we had yesterday! The dinner turned out well, my guests were most appreciative and as the weather was so nice we went to Ness Gardens again in the afternoon and took loads of photos. The first one is part of a monkey puzzle tree. I liked the way it seemed to be reaching towards the light!
We also spent ages in the cactus house. Griff called this the "tartan cactus" as it doesn't have any spines but instead has a subtle tartan pattern on its surface.
I happened to look up as we were walking past some buildings and saw all the lumps of moss on this roof. Such a vivid green, and so regular it was as if they'd been arranged there.
Phil is at Eaton this week but will be popping home occasionally. And it's half term, hurray, the girls are off school and I'm (mostly!) off work. Today Sian and I went to aerobics and swimming. It's the most beautiful spring day here...

I really want to visit Ness Gardens - your photos make me want to jump on a plane and bring my camera.
Happy spring day. We're getting ready for a storm here but that's OK - maybe I'll get some snow shots, we've haven't had much this season.
I tagged you for a fun little meme if you're into it.
Ok, I'm a retard, but I had no idea there was cactus in the UK. I thought cactus was like... marmots or something! ;) Great pictures - so beautiful!
I tagged you at: everyday-kindness.com!
Great photos! This weekend has been fabulous weatherwise hasn't it? :)
Lovely photos. We had a monkey puzzle tree near our house in Oregon and I never knew what it was! Glad you had such a super day.
I love the way the monkey puzzle and the cactus are sort of peeping into the shots...and I also love the little clumps of moss, I notice them mostly when the birds have picked them off and thrown them onto the ground...at least they do that on a church near me..!
It sounds like you had a beautiful time. I like these shots, especially the lighting in the first one.
Lovely shots....I have never seen a cactus like the "tartan" one.
