This was my view back along the Promenade at West Kirby during my lunchtime walk on Tuesday. Normally there are lots of people about! The wet pavements make it obvious that waves have been crashing over the railings and there was a lot of debris too as you can see.

The gales were bad last night and I didn't sleep well but apart from a broken latch on the gate there seems to be no damage to our home.

I don't know if you meant it to but this photo looks menacing, like something out of Hitchcock--lowering sky, vanishing point, relatively deserted, black and white. I'm a Hitchcock fan and this photo really gives me that chill-down-the-spine feeling.

I'm glad you didn't have much wind damage. Hopefully this windy stuff will be over soon.

Your photo really captures the beauty of a storm and the ocean and the fragile line between nature and us.

I repeat myself often - your photos just make me happy.

Love that photo.

We seem to have been spared the worst of the storms, plenty of rain this morning but the winds weren't as fierce as predicted.

There is something very haunting about this photograph. Perhaps its the lack of people? It's like everybody just disappeared...

OH a Fabulous shot! I would have loved to walk there....with the spray coming off the water...but I DON'T think I would have liked it if a WAVE had crashed on me :)

Artbliss has it right-on. It's very Hitchcock-ish. Bodega Bay and the Birds?????????

I think you can relate;)
